Trump Business Sought to Hire Almost 200 Employees on Visas in 2025

Donald Trump’s corporate entity accelerated its recruitment of overseas employees on short-term work permits this year, even as his government was creating barriers for other businesses attempting to do the identical, an analysis released recently stated.

According to data from the US Department of Labor, the Trump Organization sought to hire at least nearly 200 foreign workers in 2025 for temporary positions at the US president’s Florida property, golf facilities and his Virginia winery.

The number of applications for H-2A and H-2B visas covering workers including waitstaff, clerks, housekeepers, culinary employees and farm workers was the record submitted by the company, and increased from 121 in the previous term, when Trump’s first term concluded.

It was also the fifth instance in a decade that Trump had attempted to hire over a hundred overseas workers for seasonal jobs at Mar-a-Lago, according to labor statistics.

The revelation comes amid a tightening on legal immigration by his government that has included the introduction of a $100,000 fee on H1-B visas; increased review of the actions of the 55 million people who possess American work permits; and restrictive new rules for international scholars and journalists.

Overall, the Trump Organization sought to employ over 560 foreign laborers over the five years the former president has been in the presidency, from 2017 to 2021 and during 2025.

Significantly, the former president was questioned by some in the GOP this week for comments defending the necessity for overseas employees when a business was unable to find people with “particular skills” to fill particular roles.

“You can’t just say a nation is coming in, going to invest billions to build a plant, and going to recruit individuals off an jobless roster who have been unemployed in five years, and they’re going to start producing their missiles. It doesn’t work that effectively,” he stated to a host after it was implied that foreign workers lower the pay of US workers.

The White House refused a request for response, and the Trump Organization did not provide an answer to an request for information.
