Filipino President Ferdinand Marcos Jr has declared a state of emergency - which is triggered by numerous deaths, widespread structural damage, and disruption to means of livelihoods and daily routines for local inhabitants.

This powerful storm, referred to locally as Tino, ripped through the densely inhabited island of Cebu, flooding complete communities and washing automobiles along avenues.

Many thousands of people had to be relocated, others are resting in temporary accommodations.
