Extraordinary marksman Erling Haaland secures a crack at his initial international competition next summer, following his guidance Norway to the World Cup.
Additionally, the 25-year-old Premier League striker did it in outstanding performance, scoring 16 goals in eight World Cup qualifying matches - finding the back of the net consistently in every one of those games.
That makes him the top scorer in 2026 World Cup preliminary stage in any continent.
And his national team's 4-1 win against Italy on Sunday, where Haaland scored twice, guarantees they'll be playing in next summer's World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The striker commented afterwards: "I'm happy, but mostly relieved. There's a lot of pressure and stuff, and I experience it. But it's fun."
This represents only their fourth World Cup, and their first major tournament since the 2000 Euros.
His goal tally for Norway is nothing short of phenomenal.
He has scored 55 goals in 48 matches for his country.
Additionally he is only the sixth player ever, and the premier in half a century, to net 50 strikes in under 50 international games.
Norway's previous leading goalscorer was Juve with 33 strikes, who kept that distinction for almost a century.
Throughout these preliminary games he netted 16 strikes - in eight encounters - plus two goal contributions.
That is double the goals tally anyone else has registered in European qualifying.
He remains the highest scorer in these preliminary games in any continent, even in regions where national sides participate double the matches.
Over a year has elapsed since Haaland previously didn't score in a match for his country.
But it is not just a one-man show.
Skipper Martin Odegaard, 26, has greater goal contributions than anyone else in European qualifying - seven.
The Arsenal midfielder has played 67 times for Norway since his initial cap at the young age of 15.
"Combine Haaland's success with the truth that in this generation we also have Martin Odegaard," stated an analyst.
Our nation represents of five million inhabitants and we have both the best striker and I'd suggest the best playmaker, certainly one of the top creators, in the Premier League.
