Jet Transporting Pete Hegseth Required to Land in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield

An aircraft carrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was found in the plane's windshield, per an announcement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.

"The aircraft landed based on established safety measures and all individuals on the flight, such as Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson commented in a online announcement.

The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to Brussels during the flight.

This incident does not mark the first occasion that a American defense plane ferrying a high-ranking official has encountered equipment failures.

Months ago, a American military jet ferrying the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was forced to head back to Washington after suffering a technical issue.
