The British player made it to the third stage in three of the four Grand Slams during the season.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain will not compete in the last two tournaments in 2025 due to a health issue she has been fighting over the past 10 days.

Raducanu, aged 22 was scheduled to compete in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to rest and recuperate prior to beginning her preparations for 2026.

These plans are set to feature trainer Francisco Roig, as they will keep partnering again next season.

Raducanu had her blood pressure taken while playing the initial match against Ann Li in Wuhan last week and withdrew when behind 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

Another medical visit was necessary a doctor's assessment at this week's Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the first round.

Her movement was far from freely in the third set against Zhu because of back discomfort that has troubled her during parts of the season.

Such performances signaled a promising season, in which she climbed into the international top 30 for the first time since her previous ranking, finished with a trio of defeats.

Raducanu had three match points prior to falling to Jessica Pegula in round three in last month's Beijing event.

She secured twenty-eight matches in the current season and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but her most impressive week was at March's Miami Open.

Ranked first in Britain reached the quarter-finals of this WTA 1000 tournament, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed en route before losing in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She was coached by Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in ahead of the US Open.

The initial agreement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was for the remainder of the year but the partnership will continue, with planned training sessions in the coming months.

Raducanu told that her three-day trial alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

She came very close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati during August.

Roig joined her in New York, where she made the third stage before being beaten by 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
